False Teachers Catch Unstable Christians

Estimated Reading Time: About 7 Minutes

2 Peter 2: 1 says “But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you”.

2 Peter 2: 2-3 says “And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money”.

False prophets and false teachers are not a new occurrence, in fact, they have existed since the time of Peter in the Bible. They cleverly twist the words of the Bible to mean something that it was not intended to mean, and catch unsuspecting Christians. Therefore brethren, one of the surefire ways to not fall into the trap of false teaching, is to know what the Bible says, and be grounded in the word of God. In addition, do not be scared to walk away from Churches, Gatherings, and Places that say that they are gathered in the name of the Lord, but have unbiblical tenets. You are here for God, not for people. Also be wary of religious leaders who are more concerned about your money than any other thing, usually, money extortion is the goal of a lot of false teachers.

(Father, I pray that you give your children and the body of Christ, the spirit of discernment and a grounding in and desire for your word. I pray that you lead us aright that we may not falter in the wrong direction. All of these I pray in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen).
