Pay Attention to Process

Brethren, I hope this message meets you well. I want to call attention to what Christians today are doing. Many of us think of God as a forgiving father who would let everything slide, but we need to pay attention to the life of Jesus. Jesus followed due process and the scripture to a T.

Jesus got baptized in Matthew 3:13-15

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

Jesus quoted scripture and followed them in Matthew 4: 1-11

7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]

Jesus began his ministry by using the same words that John the Baptist used in Matthew 4:17, John used those words in Matthew 3:1-2.

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

If Jesus knew to follow the things of the Lord to the T, regardless of how powerful he was, then we need to take heed and make sure that we are doing the same.

By God’s grace, we will not miss the beautiful eternity that God has promised us, in the name of Jesus, Amen. Let’s keep working hard and praying for heaven and a name in the book of life. Please keep me in your prayers as well.
