Showing your love for God

Dear Brethren, I hope this message meets you well. I do not know about you, but I have definitely wondered about what we can give to God. I mean God is so perfect and self dependent, and because of this I sometimes wonder how we can show our love for God. We humans often associate showing love with giving gifts, well technically, you cannot give gifts directly to God, God has everything that God needs. So, what can we do to show our love for a God who has everything?

The Bible says in 1 John 2:5

⁵But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him.

The Bible says in 1 John 5:3

³Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.

For God, showing love to God is about being obedient. God loves our obedience and this makes him happy. Like any loving father, God’s rules are not meant to protect him, but to protect us. He wants to see us living right and doing well. God is awesome and his love for us is unparalleled. Brethren, let us hold on to this Great God that we have.
