Dear Brethren,
I hope this message meets you well. Today, I would like to talk about generational blessings. Most of us are familiar with the concept of generational curses. However, do you know that generational blessings are real too? Yes they are. It takes only one really righteous person in a family, for God to visit generations of that family with blessings. Abraham was a righteous man, and God visited his son Issac, Issac’s son Jacob etc. with blessings as well. Another great example, is in the story of King David in the Bible. King David was a righteous man (except for some things that he did that were not good), and God loved David. God promised to make David’s descendants rulers of the throne. Time and time again, God made David’s descendant’s rulers, and time and time again, they failed God. However, because of God’s love for David, he kept visiting David’s descendants with the blessing of Kingship. See Bible verse below:
1 Kings 15:1-4 says:
Abijam[a] began to rule over Judah in the eighteenth year of Jeroboam’s reign in Israel. 2 He reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother was Maacah, the granddaughter of Absalom.[b]
3 He committed the same sins as his father before him, and he was not faithful to the Lord his God, as his ancestor David had been. 4 But for David’s sake, the Lord his God allowed his descendants to continue ruling, shining like a lamp, and he gave Abijam a son to rule after him in Jerusalem.
So, you see from the text above, that just as generational curses can be a real thing, generational blessings are also a real thing. Many Christians today are standing in for their entire generation, you could be the David of your generation, the one who makes God want to visit your descendants with blessings. God does not forget people’s good deeds, and he did not forget David. So brethren, let us tap into this grace, and be the light that attracts blessings. Keep praying for yourself, and don’t forget to pray for me as well. May our names be and remain in God’s book of life, and may we fulfill his purpose here on earth, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
