The Wild & Free LifeStyle Is Not Godly

Hello Brethren,

I hope this message meets you well.

Today, I want to talk about the wild and free lifestyle. The wild and free lifestyle is often presented to us as a cool thing. You see images and tv shows where people work all day, party all night, have multiple sex partners, get high, get wild, and entertain anything that their lust brings their way. These days it is called expressing yourself, it is called being wild and free, it is called Y.O.L.O (You only live once). Sometimes, a Christian can even begin to wonder if they are missing out by not participating in these things. However, the truth of the issue is that what is often shown is the highlight reel of a much darker situation. There are people who live recklessly and genuinely act like they do not care about the consequences of their actions. They act on impulse and do whatever their desires tell them to do and they act as though they have no regrets. Dear Brethren, many a time, these people actually have a lot of regrets. No matter how cool they try to make their life seem, deep down they feel broken. Sugar babies that tell you all about how their sugar daddy bought them gifts, men that brag about how many women they have been with, addicts that boast about how many joints they smoke per day, etc. all of these things are just a show, the real thing happens behind the scenes. The real thing is the depression, sadness, and loneliness that comes from the life they live. Coupled with the fact that they often feel too distant from God to come to God for help, which only makes things worse. You are not missing out on anything by being a Child of God that is obedient to God. They call it boring, we call it chosen. They do not define us. The wild and free lifestyle is what pagans do, and this is what the Bible even says.

1 Peter 4:3-5 says

For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

So friends, let us be wise and stop peer pressure from ruining our purpose. May God be with us all as we strive to live for him and not for the world. Stay blessed.
