What is Love?

Hello Friends,

I hope this message meets you well.

As is my usual way of doing, I am back with another post. Today, I want to talk about Love. Seeing as Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I think this is a worthy discussion to have. People will yet again, go out and buy a teddy bear, flowers, chocolates, clothes, etc. for their significant others. Now, that is nice, I mean let’s be honest, who does not want to receive such nice things. However, Valentine’s day has quickly become about lust than it is about the love of God. People make inappropriate playlists for their significant other, and send them inappropriate pictures. However, as Christians, we need to make sure that everything we do is in line with God’s word.

According to the Bible: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

This kind of biblical love is what we want to show each and everyone around us, including our significant other. It is not enough to just buy presents, we need to work to have the kind of love described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Today is January 30, you still have time to make this commitment before February 14 arrives. God bless you.
