Christ-centered ruminations

Here we discuss a variety of issues in light of scripture and experience

People Watch Christians

Hello Friends,

I hope this post meets you well.

Today, I want to talk about identifying as a Christians. The truth is, the moment that you become a Christian, you join God’s camp in the war against the enemy (the devil). There is an extent of spiritual warfare that Christians sometimes get involved in, just by becoming a Christian. The devil tried to tempt even Jesus. That is the reality of becoming one with the light. However, God is able to help us to win the battle, and victory is assured.

However, the spiritual front is not the only place where identifying as Christian involves you in something. Identifying as a Christian would also change how people in the real world view you.

There are people who genuinely do not like God. Some of these people would always point to the faulty actions of the Christians that they know to show that God has no real impact on the lives of people. Some people would point to the issues that a Christian is facing and use that as an excuse to make claims that God does not exist. Some people on the other hand would simply pay more attention to the Christian and how they identify, and expect the Christian to always be loving and kind and sweet, and if the person deviates from that, they would call the person a fake Christian.

Meanwhile, being a Christian is not what it is portrayed to be by others. Being a Christian is a molding process where God helps us through our weaknesses. We make mistakes, we fall, and God helps us up. Christianity is not just a religion, it is a lifestyle. Always remember to be true to who God is calling you to be, regardless of who is watching you. Also remember to commune with God and let him be your rock.

May God be with you.
