Everyone dreams, and we do know that God communicates to us through dreams.
Numbers 12:6 says “the Lord said to them, Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams”.
So we know from this Bible verse that God communicates through dreams. However, does this mean that all dreams come from God? No. As a matter of fact, dreams from God are just one set of dreams. Here are the three places that dreams come from (1) dreams from God (2) dreams from the devil (3) dreams from our human imagination.
So what sets apart dreams from God from other dreams:
- Even when a dream from God is a bad dream, it does NOT cause panic, fear, or anxiety. God is not trying to scare you, he is a God of peace.
- Dreams from God can be repeated in nature i.e. having the same dream 5 nights in a row etc. This means that God is trying to warn you about something.
- Your inner spirit can confirm that the dream is from God.
I hope this list helps. Remember to pray about your dreams. Pray against the bad ones and pray too when you have good ones. God is still the King, be strong brethren.
(Father, I pray that you speak to your people, and I pray that you guide the lines of communication, that the devil may have no power in the region. I pray Father that you bless us with the spirit of discernment. I pray all of these in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen).
